Unlock Siemens TIA Portal Project Password

5:12 · Published Dec 2025

Platform: Siemens

Recover or remove the project-protection password on a Siemens TIA Portal project so you can get back into work you legally own. TIA Portal lets an engineer set a project password to stop unauthorized changes — useful protection while they're on the job, but a real problem once that password is lost or the person who set it is gone. If you'd rather have it handled, I provide manual Siemens recovery support — done personally, with nothing sold or downloaded from this site.

What this walkthrough covers

  • Project protection password (TIA Portal, generally V13 and later)
  • UMAC — User Management & Access Control — on TIA Portal V19 and later with S7-1500 firmware 3.1+
  • Projects for S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300 and S7-400 built in TIA Portal

Supported software & hardware

  • TIA Portal V13 through V20
  • Project files .ap13–.ap20
  • UMAC-protected projects (V19 and later, local users or synced via a UMC server)

Who this is for

  • You forgot or lost the project password on your own TIA Portal project
  • A previous engineer left and no password record was kept
  • You've inherited a locked TIA Portal project you legally own
  • You need to back up, modify, or audit a legacy project

Locked out of a Siemens project you own?

Questions

Which products and versions does this cover?

It applies to TIA Portal V13 through V20, Project files .ap13–.ap20, UMAC-protected projects (V19 and later, local users or synced via a UMC server).

Who does the recovery?

I do, personally. Every job is manual — it isn't automated with a tool and it isn't resold to anyone else.

Do I have to own the equipment?

Yes. I only help owners and authorized maintainers regain access to their own projects — in line with the authorized-use-only policy on the channel.

Do you sell a tool or a download for this?

No. There are no tools for sale and no downloads on this site. Recovery is a manual service I perform or guide you through.
