Unlock Siemens Simatic Manager & PCS 7 Safety Password (S7-300 / S7-400)

2:07 · Published Mar 2026

Platform: Siemens

Recover the safety program (F-) password on a Siemens F-CPU running under Simatic Manager or PCS 7. On a fail-safe CPU, Siemens uses two separate passwords — the ordinary CPU password, and a distinct F-password that specifically gates downloads and changes to the safety (F-) program. Losing the F-password locks you out of the safety logic even if you still have the CPU password. If you'd rather have it handled, I provide manual Siemens recovery support — done personally, with nothing sold or downloaded from this site.

What this walkthrough covers

  • F-password (safety program password) — separate from the CPU password
  • Access to F-blocks on an S7-300 / S7-400 F-CPU
  • Simatic Manager (STEP 7 Classic v5.x) and SIMATIC PCS 7 projects

Supported software & hardware

  • Siemens Simatic Manager (STEP 7 Classic v5.x) and SIMATIC PCS 7
  • S7-300 / S7-400 F-CPUs
  • Safety program (F-) blocks and the separate F-password protecting them

Who this is for

  • You forgot or lost the F-password on your own safety project
  • A previous engineer left and no safety-password record was kept
  • You've inherited a legacy S7-300 / S7-400 safety project you legally own
  • You need access to an F-CPU safety program you are authorized to maintain

Questions

Which products and versions does this cover?

It applies to Siemens Simatic Manager (STEP 7 Classic v5.x) and SIMATIC PCS 7, S7-300 / S7-400 F-CPUs, Safety program (F-) blocks and the separate F-password protecting them.

Who does the recovery?

I do, personally. Every job is manual — it isn't automated with a tool and it isn't resold to anyone else.

Do I have to own the equipment?

Yes. I only help owners and authorized maintainers regain access to their own projects — in line with the authorized-use-only policy on the channel.

Do you sell a tool or a download for this?

No. There are no tools for sale and no downloads on this site. Recovery is a manual service I perform or guide you through.
